The experience
The magic to meet childhood.
Atacamagica Kusiy was the first international festival of illusionism aimed at children and families in the Atacama region. In August 2017 she brought together artists from Argentina, Spain, Uruguay and Chile with roles at Copiapó, Chañaral and Tierra Amarilla and a visit to the Pediatrics Unit at San José del Carmen Regional Hospital.
The program combined entertainment and participatory spaces to bring illusionism to childhood in theatres and other contexts of the region. Luis Albornoz conceived the festival and assumed his general direction and artistic co-direction. The global production came from Imaginario Producciones and co-ordination with Fundación Atacamagica.

Impact
A meeting with more than 3,800 participants.
With Fondart financing, Kusiy called more than 3,800 direct participants. He included roles for schoolchildren, family presentations, a community activity with Fútbol + girls and boys, a conversation with ESARTE students and a visit to paediatrics.
At the Municipal Cultural Center of Copiapó, four full functions were performed. Along with increasing access to illusionism for children's public, the program opened a public conversation about children's and children's rights.
