The experience
The illusionism met communities.
The International Ilusionism Festival Atacamagica was a platform for circulation, training and cultural access established and directed by Luis Albornoz from Atacama. His program brought national and international artists together and brought illusionism to theatres, cultural centers, squares, schools, hospitals, residences and prisons. The festival built a sustained relationship between scene, community and territory.
One of the best-to-do events was at Tierra Amarilla, immediately after the flood. While the community still faced with the prints of the emergency, the festival performed a role to bring together neighbours and artists around magic. Between mud and uncertainty, laughter and astonishment opened a shared breath: the possibility of connecting, even if for an instant, with something light amidst difficult days.

Impact
A regional movement and training platform.
Between 2006 and 2017, it reached more than 70,000 attendees and registered about 1,000 participation of illusionists in training and professionals in their conference programs, master class, specialized products and resources fairs for illusionism, illusionism skills and interchange.
His contribution was to install from Atacama a regional platform for the circulation, training and professionalization of illusionism and to extend his access to public and spaces usually far from cultural circuits.
Throughout his different editions, artists from illusionism and performing arts from Chile and abroad participated, including Tina Lenert, Mike Caveney, René Lavand, Guy Hollingworth, Avner the Eccentric, Lennart Green, Dani DaOrtiz, David Stone, Mago Migue, Carlos Adriano, Mago Kayto, Hernan Maccagno, Roberto Mansilla, Radagast, Lumbardini, Bruno Tarnecci, Henry Varga, Mago Helmut, Skorpio, Magic Twins, Jean Paul Frettira, and Frettira, Daniel Frettira, and Frettira.
