The experience
Stupidity as a form of thought.
Thaumazein explores astonishment and perception as ways to interrogate what we call our acquaintance. Through illusionism, tale and observation, it challenges expectations and questions what happens when our certainties become unstable.
Created and put forward since 2024, the conference deepens an artistic research about astonishment as an experience capable of activating care, questions and new ways of looking.
The conference was launched at the opening of the Research Centre for Technology for Society (C +) at the University of Development's School of Engineering. The day brought together short talks and research, creation and outreach projects and, in that context, Thaumazein brought an artistic look about magic experiences and their experimental formats.
