The experience

Where does magic start?

Born from an research about the surprising, perception and participation of the spectator, Un mago en el desierto combines close magic, brief accounts and performance actions with an analogue stage device. Object, light and shadows appear and are transformed at a short distance and those who observe become an active part of dramaturia.

The work challenges memory, presence and what we understand as real. Each function changes with space and with the people involved. At the centre remains a question: where does magic start?

Impact

From Atacama desert to other scenarios.

The tour began in 2020 with 21 performances at the Close-Up Gallery at the Magic Castle in Hollywood. From Atacama, the proposal took a stage scale and, with support from a Fondart project, visited Chile, included functions at the Municipal Theater of Las Condes and reached Bolivia on a mission with ProChile.
