The experience

The Windsor Theater's back on stage.

Rescate is a play directed and written by Alejandro Moreno as part of Excavations, a cycle that ponders the material and immaterial heritage of the Chilean theater. The work takes as its starting point the Torre Windsor de Chañaral, founded in 1867 and honors the stage director Andrés Pérez Araya, who visited that space in 1995.

He was introduced at the Heritage Gallery of the La Coeda Cultural Center in March 2023. There, the scale model of the Windsor Theater of the installation The performance of oblivion worked as a mobile stage for six functions. The cast was composed of Valentina Muhr, Paula Bravo, Mario Goya and Juan Pablo Lara.

In May 2024, "Rescate" was introduced by the Company The Army of Reality at the Cultural Center CEINA, Santiago, on 11 and 12 May. The work regains sound records from the stage director Andrés Pérez and puts them in the imaginary at the Windsor Theater of Chañaral.

The staging incorporated robotic technologies previously developed in the project "Voz Mineral."

The Foundation's role

Support for circulation in Santiago.

For the 2024 presentations, Fundación Atacamagica received a contribution of $5,767,000 from the Municipality of Copiapó, intended for the move of staging between Copiapó and Santiago and for the rental of audio and light equipment. The town's management supported the movement of his work and his artistic architecture was with Alejandro Moreno.
